Opgelet! Je bent te gast in een kwetsbaar natuurgebied met hoge recreatieve druk. Er gelden buiten de normale regels en richtlijnen voor paalkamperen een paar specifieke regels voor bivakzone Het Vinne :

* Bivakkeren enkel tussen 1 april en 30 september.
* Bij aankomst kan u zich aanmelden met opgave van aantal tenten, aantal personen en de duur van het verblijf. Tel. 011/78.18.19 .
* Fietsers nemen de fiets mee aan de hand tot de bivakzone. Verbod om te fietsen in het domein buiten de dolomietwegen.

* Tijdelijke werken 2020-2021. Door saneringswerken in het kader van het natuurinrichtingsproject staat het meer droog tot voorjaar 2021. Het Vinne blijft desondanks de werken een uniek stukje natuur.

Bivakzone Het Vinne is van de provinciale overheid van Vlaams-Brabant.

This officially recognized bivouac area is managed by the provincial government Vlaams-Brabant and is open from 1 april till 30 september. Located at the biggest natural inner lake in Flanders and near the historical town of Zoutleeuw. No reservation possible but registration by phone (no textmessage) on arrival is compulsory before you pitch your tent. (0032) (0)11.78.18.19 . Max 10 people or 3 small trekking tents allowed. You can stay up to 48 hrs (2 nights). Free stay. A bivouac area should not be confused with a small camping, rules are different, comfort facilities limited or non-existent and you are held personally responsible to keep the area spotlessly clean and quiet during your short stay. Strictly forbidden for any motorized vehicle, access only on foot. Arriving by bike is possible but cycling is not allowed within the boundaries of the provincial domain Het Vinne. Hand water pump (water non-potable), toilet. Small campfire allowed under normal weather conditions (no dry period or strong winds) but only at the specifically designated place, not elsewhere. Excellent location for families with young children. Lots of waymarked walking and cycle trails in the area. Enjoy your short stay. Leave no trace, just your footsteps.
